About the project

Built for People Who Want Real Numbers

Milli to Micro exists because people deserve accurate, transparent calculations they can trust — not vague rules of thumb. Free milli-to-micro and micro-to-milli unit conversion that runs entirely in your browser.

About this site: Milli to Micro is an independent reference tool for SI prefix conversion. Every factor is derived from the official BIPM definition of the International System of Units (SI) and is mathematically exact.

Our team

Who We Are

Milli to Micro is an independent engineering reference, maintained by a team of engineers and scientists. We believe SI prefix conversion tools should be accurate, free, and completely transparent — showing the formula, not just the answer.

Editorial Team

Unit Conversion Editors

The editorial team maintains the milli-to-micro converter and verifies every conversion factor against the official SI prefix definitions published by BIPM and NIST.

Our story

How We Started

Milli to Micro began as a frustration: most online calculators hand you a number with no explanation, no sources, and a page buried in ads. We wanted the opposite.

What started as one clean tool grew into a small library of calculators and guides — each one built to show its working and respect your privacy.

Our mission

What We Do

We turn established formulas into fast, accurate tools you can use in seconds — then wrap them in plain-English explanations of what the result actually means.

The guides exist for the follow-up question every calculator should answer: “okay, so what do I do with this number?”

Trusted source statement

Our credibility statement

We earn trust the boring way: by showing the formula, linking to the official SI brochure, and letting you verify every step. No black boxes.

You can read the methodology behind each prefix on our guides and cross-check every number against BIPM or NIST yourself.

Documented formulas

Each converter page shows the exact SI prefix equation and how to apply it — nothing hidden.

BIPM & NIST aligned

Prefix definitions follow the International System of Units (SI) as published by BIPM, cross-checked against NIST.

Precise to floating-point limits

Conversions are computed without intermediate rounding, giving you the full precision your browser's numeric type supports.

Core principles

What makes this different

Exact SI Factors, No Rounding

Every conversion uses the exact BIPM-defined factor. Milli is 10⁻³, micro is 10⁻⁶, and the multiplier is always precisely 1,000 — never an approximation.

Sourced Against BIPM & NIST

Unit definitions and prefix values follow the International System of Units (SI) published by BIPM and NIST, with sources linked on every page.

Runs Entirely in Your Browser

The converter runs client-side. Nothing you type is sent to a server, stored, or logged — your inputs never leave your device.

Static HTML — Fast & Crawlable

Every page ships as pre-rendered, crawlable HTML. The interactive calculator hydrates on top without replacing the content.

Shows the Working

Each converter page displays the formula, a worked example, and a reference table — so you can verify the math yourself instead of trusting a black box.

Covers 20 Unit Categories

Length, current, voltage, mass, time, volume, capacitance, inductance, power, energy, force, pressure, and more — one tool for any SI prefix conversion.
